John F. Kennedy Commemorative 36 Medal Proof Series Sterling
Silver
My late mother bought this set of 36 medals for me, one each month
in the early 70's, since JFK and I share the same birthday, May
29. I've carried it with me everywhere I've moved since the
early 80's, paying to store it in bank vaults all over California,
wherever I lived at the time. Mom passed away 4 years ago,
and the bank vault was starting to cost more than the book was
worth, or so I thought. Anyhow, it's time to pass this along
to a new owner.
As the certificate states, each medal is 39 mm (1-1/2 inches) in
diameter, and contains one full ounce of Sterling Silver.
Produced by the Lincoln Mint, this set was just valued at $1200 by
the scrap dealer, for the weight of the coins only. I think
it's worth a little more than that, just for the collector value,
so I'm setting the starting bid at what I think it's worth.
If it doesn't sell for what I'm asking, I'll sell the medals to
the scrap dealer and keep the book, and then I can quit worrying
about someone stealing the medals from my home.
California Bicentennial 4 Medallion Sterling Silver Proof
Collection
This is a set of 4 Lincoln Mint Sterling Silver Proof Medals,
dated 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976. Each medallion is 1-1/2 inches
in diameter, Sterling Silver. If I can go by the JFK medals
I have in another auction, each medallion's scrap value is $33, so
this set is worth about $132 in scrap, so I'm starting the auction
above the scrap value. If it doesn't sell for what I'm
asking, I'll take it to the scrap man.
These mufflers were on my motorcycle when I bought it, and they're
too loud for my tastes. I put stock pipes back on it.
The prior owner said they were de-baffled by a company in
Kentucky, so it was done professionally. The tone doesn't
crack like a pure open pipe, but it's not quiet, for sure.
It rumbles. As you can see from the photos of the ends,
there is still some glasspack-style muffling occurring from the
perforated pipe and packing still remaining. Car alarms went off
when this bike went by! If you want the stock look with
open-pipe sound, these mufflers are for you!
There are some scrapes to the lower and upper mufflers, and a dent
in the upper muffler. The dent is not easily visible when
the pipes are mounted. I didn't even see it until I took
them off.
Here's what they sound like, along with the DynoJet Power
Commander I have on another auction:
DynoJet Power Commander III Harley Vrod
V-Rod 1130cc
This Power Commander was on my motorycycle when I bought it, and
it's set to run with open exhaust only. I put stock mufflers
back on the bike, and it wouldn't run right with the extra
backpressure, so I removed the Power Commander. You will
need open exhaust to run this as-is, or get it re-programmed to
run with something other than open pipes. My open pipes are
available on another auction.
This Power Commander along with open pipes, really made my bike
into a screamer. I'm a new rider, and don't need a screamer.
Installation is very simple: Remove the left side electronics
cover and the air filter top. Disconnect the negative side
of the battery for safety, then disconnect the main
computer. Hook the Power Commander into the main computer,
then hook the harness into the Power Commander. The box sits
between the battery and air filter box. Hook the battery
back up, and reinstall all the covers.
In good condition. Chrome is fair, no breaks. One
small crack at the very bottom. In the ten years I owned the
car, I never noticed the small crack until I removed the grille.
Removed from my personal car before it was scrapped after failing
its smog test.
This is the plastic piece that goes between the grille and
radiator support. In very good condition, plastic fasteners
included. Removed from my personal car before it was scrapped
after failing its smog test.
1990 Ford Bronco II Explorer Console Tan
In very good condition, no cracks or broken parts. Removed
from my personal car before it was scrapped after failing its smog
test.
1990 Ford Bronco II Explorer Center Armrest Tan Very Good
Pivoting center armrest, in very good condition. There is
minor thinning of the material where my elbow rested, but
otherwise this is in excellent condition. The hinge is still
very tight, and will stop in any location.
Removed from my personal car before it was scrapped after failing
its smog test. See my other auctions for more interior
parts, including the console this attaches to.
1990 Ford Bronco II Ranger Explorer Padded Visors Tan
Padded sun visors, with mirror on passenger side. In very
good condition. Removed from my personal car before it was
scrapped after failing its smog test. See my other auctions
for more interior parts
I bought these in November 2009, then had to scrap the car in
January 2010 due to a cracked head. Consequently, these
supports saw very little use over the few months they were
installed. I'd say they moved a couple dozen times, at
most. See my other auctions for more interior parts
Removed from my personal car before it was scrapped after failing
its smog test. In excellent condition. This fits only
the miniature spare, not a full size tire. See my other
auctions for more interior parts.
1964 to 1966 Ford Mercury 260 289 Valve Covers Nice!
These are factory valve covers for a Ford 260 or 289 engine
with PCV in the valve cover. I cleaned these, painted
them, and put new gaskets on them, and used them for only about
2 tanks of gas, before the engine started knocking. My
replacement engine had different rocker arms, so these would not
fit any longer. In excellent condition. Paint color
is 63 Ford 260 Red.
This air filter is used on a lot of different early 60's Fords,
and is in excellent condition. Element is new. I ran
about 2 tanks of gas through my car before the engine started
knocking, and then I put custom valve covers and a chrome air
filter on the replacement engine. Comes with factory wing
nuts on snorkel. Color is 63 Ford 260 Red.
Pinto Bobcat Vent, Handles, Dome Light, Column Cover
Assorted parts from a Pinto. Standard rolling vent outlet in
excellent condition. Two deluxe window cranks in fair
condition with some cracking to the plastic knobs. One
standard door handle. Steering column cover. Dome
light housing, no lens.
Covered glove box for Pinto or Bobcat without air
conditioning. Plastic is excellent, cardboard cover is
fragile and missing a few pieces, but is still functional.
Lower passenger side has a minor break and a bend. I
removed this from a car in a junkyard, and the damage was not
even noticeable until I removed the part. Not concours,
but definitely a good driver quality piece.
1969 Mercury Cougar Hood Latch & Vacuum Motor Assembly
Removed from a 69 Cougar in a junkyard, in fair
condition. Uprights were bent, and I straightened them to
the best of my ability without having a car to trial fit.
Some of the places where it bent have tears in the metal.
The vacuum motor shaft has been welded by someone in the
past. I put a vacuum pump to the lower fitting, and it
held a vacuum very well. The upper fitting moved the shaft
up only if I used my mouth to provide enough vacuum, and the
vaccuum did not hold. Definitely not a show quality piece,
but maybe it's better than what you have now.
1969 69 Mercury Cougar Vacuum Reservior Under Fender
Removed from a 69 Cougar in a junkyard, may fit other years as
well. This unit goes underneath the passenger side
fender. I applied vacuum to the small fitting, and it held
well. When I applied vacuum to the larger fitting, I could
not get a vacuum to hold. I don't understand the operation
of this unit well enough to say whether it is working correctly
or not.
62 63 Ford Fairlane Mercury Meteor Padded Dash Trim
Metal trim removed from padded dash on a 63 Mercury
Meteor. Stainless steel with attaching clips. In
excellent condition.
67 72 Ford F250 Camper Special Fuel Tank Gauge Switch
The switch does not work properly, but the mounting bracket, ID
ring, nut, and pigtail are in good condition. I had this
switch in my truck, and it works intermittently. If you
need the mounting parts, or have a way to fix this switch, it
might be useful to you. REPEAT--Switch does not work
properly--only functions intermittently.
